Sonnet

by Kaji Aldewolf

_

Glimmering lights in the dark, living metal
Sparks flying from many sheathed curved blades
Natural shield, ever ready for battle
Multiple sickles, thus then the fool is slayed

In a gust of wind, the sun so blotted
Mystical brawn, coiled for stability
The clouds pushed off, splendor finely spotted
Immeasurable strength, without frailty

Glowing orbs of splendor, lights in the night
Flames bursting forth, origin are unknown
With the fright in one’s soul, the glow sans light
Hidden furnace, burning man’s flesh from bone

Behemoth of myth, the dragons’ life cleaved
Nothing that can’t be seen can be believed
