Submission Guidelines

Submissions for Allasso Volume 3 are now open until July 1st, 2012.

Allasso is a bi-annual online publication dedicated to finding new experiences within anthropomorphic writing and art.  Publications will be released as an online journal, in print, and as an e-book.  Submissions can have humans but must be animal-related.  Anthropomorphic and feral creatures are both accepted.  A person may enter one submission per category each time submissions open.  Each submission should be sent as an attachment on an e-mail unless otherwise specified. The different categories are:

Poetry — five (5) poems per submission.  No minimum or maximum length.  File must be .doc, .docx, or .rtf
Fiction — one (1) story per submission.  Maximum 10,000 words, no minimum length.  Standard manuscript format is preferred, though experimental formats are accepted.  File must be .doc, .docx, or .rtf
Essay — one (1) essay per submission.  Maximum 10,000 words, no minimum length.  Essays must relate to animals or the furry fandom.  Standard manuscript format is preferred, though experimental formats are accepted.  File must be .doc, .docx, or .rtf
Art — five (5) pieces per submission.  Any photography or drawn work accepted, though we prefer art that works well in black-and-white.  Send in the highest available resolution.
Experimental/Other — one (1) piece per submission.  If what you are submitting doesn’t seem to fit into any of the other categories, it can go here.  This could include music, video, or something even our editor cannot imagine.  Feel free to surprise us.

We will choose one work per category for a $50 cash prize.  In addition, we’ll give our favorite of everything a grand prize of $200.  Prize winners will be announced on October 15, 2012.

We accept previously published pieces, but new work is preferred.  If your submission has been published anywhere (including personal blogs or websites), please tell where in the cover letter.

While we accept adult pieces, we will not accept anything that is strictly pornographic.

To submit, send an e-mail with cover letter and submissions to with the subject “Allasso Submission”

I have a story I would love to submit to your group, but alas it is 50K words which goes above your submissions guidelines. Is there a way we can work around this or no?

    • Michael,

Thank you for your interest. For “Allasso” the story is probably too long, but if you e-mail it to me, I’ll read through it. I’m interested in publishing individual works online, as well, so I’d be more than thrilled to see what you have.

If I like it enough, I’m sure we’ll find a way to do something with it. :)

  4. What about story concepts? I would love to find out how many people are interested in one of my current concepts before I start working on something that could be a bunk.

    • Hmm… The one worry I have with that is that I generally think any story concept could work if it is written right. If you want, shoot me an e-mail telling me the concept. I’ll answer any questions you have.

  5. when you say “I’m interested in publishing individual works online”, what services would you be providing that say, a writer publishing on FA could not do himself?

    (also SENT WORK it’s GREAT)

    • Taylor,

I got your piece. Still reading through it, but the cover letter made me laugh. :)

I think the biggest difference between FA and this site is the standard. FA takes anything, whereas Pink Fox Publications tries to hold to a high standard when it comes to art and literature. In addition, I do paid advertising for things on this site, and I plan to advertise every time something is published here.

What individual things would I be interested in? Well, if someone wanted to start their own collection on the site that differs from what’s already here, I’d listen to their pitch. As long as it maintained the site’s standards, I’d work with them to make it happen. In addition, if people wanted to submit a novel-sized work and it fit the site’s standards, I would post it here (although I really like to work with smaller pieces online). Really, if it fits the goals of this site, I would probably consider anything thrown at me.

If anyone has a desire to do this, please e-mail me asking if you could submit and what you would be submitting. I’ll probably give some specific guidelines depending on the length and style of the piece.

      • I think I shall consider this offer then. A high quality standard would be amazing. You’d never believe how much it hurts to be pushed off the main page by 6 obscure fetish stories, and MLP fanfic and a serial written entirely in spanish spliced with characters that don’t exist in .txt.

Would you mind terribly if the work I was considering sending to you was already self-published?

      • I wouldn’t mind that. I know that self-published books don’t get nearly the attention that they deserve, and it’s really hard to get the word out that way. Because I’m in the middle of submissions right now, it may take me longer to get back to you. If you want, e-mail me an excerpt of the book (about 2-3 chapters). If I like it after that, I’ll ask you for the whole novel.

      • Well, It’s a collection.

I’ll e-mail you 2-3 more stories (on top of steam) and then maybe get your opinion that way? :3c

Uh… That sucks. All I write is pr0n! XD Oh well. I wanted to ask,, because for some reason my works are… different, that you could read them. After all, a lil publicity never hurt!

Or not, whatever. Was just curious. Might be writing a whole series soon about… I dunno. Got one for the Halo games series, another for the Pokemon world and yet ANOTHER for the furdom, although all three series seem to be uh… pornographic for the most part.

What? I’m an action writer, I only write action stuff! XD

    • Slayed,

I understand the dilemma, but this publication is taking a different direction than other magazines within the genre. If you feel like your work has more value than just the pornography, go ahead and submit; we’ll take the time to read it and see if it feels appropriate for us. Also, don’t worry about scaring me; I’ve written papers on sf pornography, so even if the piece doesn’t work, I might personally find it interesting.

      TL;DR — Submit.

  7. Good Morning,

As with Michael’s response on June 3, 2011, I too have a manuscript that I would be interested in submitting (with wolves as heroic characters), but it too is over 50,000 words. Is there any possibility it could be looked over by your editors? Thank you for your time.

    All the best,
    Patrick Robbins

    • Patrick,

If you would like, feel free to e-mail me up to three chapters of the manuscript. If I like it enough, I’ll ask for the whole thing. It’ll take me a little while to get through it, though, since Allasso’s deadline is tomorrow.

      Thank you for your interest!

      –Brian Cook

A quick question, if I may. Does the submission deadline end at midnight the 29th or the 30th?

  9. Dane Tesston

Hello again. Sorry to say that I’m going to miss the deadline for Allasso. But I wanted to know; could i send in my story anyway? I’d like to get outside opininos on my work. If it’s alright with you, of course.

  10. Maybe now that submissions are over you can respond to my e-mail :3c

  19. If you’re creating a hard time, it could possibly be inside your best interest to think about a
short-term loan option for your short term installment loan.

  20. These loans include the best solution from
the financial predicament at the time of need.
